Trattoria – The Italian Restaurant in Medan
Trattoria Italian Restaurant, a franchise from Jakarta with branches in Bali and 2 in Jakarta has now arrived the city of Medan. The restaurant is situated right in the city, near to the Governor house at Jl Uskup Agung No. 17 Medan.. It has the traditional feel of an Italian restaurant which is nice for a change.. very relaxing atmosphere…
Like a typical Italian restaurant, once seated you will be presented with a basket of assorted bread… as you look through the endless list of food choices available… and without doubt, Pizza and Pasta were what we had for the night..
Salmone Alla Norvegese – The Salmon salad
Pappardelle Verdi al Funghi – Hand made pappardelle spinach flavour pasta in mix mushrooms in creamy sauce. For non pasta lovers, the look of the pasta may not be good, but dont let it deceive you. The taste is Gr.eeaaatt.
Capricciosa – The Pizza..
we really love the pizza – its original Italian pizza (not American pizza). The Italian pizza is oven baked with thin crispy base, finally in Medan.. it’s a must to try…
As for dessert, the restaurant offer a good choice… However, the Italian famous dessert – Tiramisu.. frankly, it was a little disappointing.. it has too much of the milky sweet taste. The best tiramisu in town is still at Spaggedies Restaurant at Jalan SParman.
And now the Creme Brulee.. which was PERFECT!!!
All in all, the restaurant has my two thumbs up, the price was very reasonable.. with extra 3 drinks, no alcohol, our bill came out to about Rp 280,000..

The interior is very beautiful and the place is cozy thanks to the nice area where the restaurant is located.
The food is really good, the service is friendly and run by italians that can not speak hokian…
It is great to have authentic italian food with a very reasonable price in our sleepy Medan.
The parking is just along the road in front of the restaurant but is easy to park.
Nice wine list with good prices, We had a nice italian red wine but I do not remember the name….
The food was all great, we have taken so much food and shared, I can’t remember all the names. What I remember was the “panna cotta strawberries” simply perfect.

We like the place, it’s in a nice house with quite surrounding, in the center of Medan near Danamon Diponegoro.
We went to Italy last year and I have to say that Trattoria Medan serves authentic good italian food. The Italian Manager that run the restaurant is really professional, the kitchen has a big window and you can see the italian chef working in the kitchen. The ambience is very nice for a romantic dinner and also perfect for families because the kids can play in the garden,
I like Sangria, a mix of wine with fruits, must try!
Overall, the food is wonderful with good service and very reasonable price. A recommended place to go!
Yes, this is the second week in a row we went for dinner and its packed with people.
I have been twice already. Excellent Food. Ask them to dine in the garden, it is nice and quiet because the road in front of the restaurant is a small road between houses.
They let you dine with candle light, really romantic.

If it costs only Rp 280,000 to have all these dishes as mentioned, I really feel very worth it.
In addition, if there is candle-lighting, it is a good and romantic restaurant.

I think romantic is the wonderful selling point of the restaurant besides the food must be delicious.
If the tiramisu is not good enough, we shall inform the chef to improve the ingredients. Tiramisu is a representative food of Italy. It is a must TRY food at any Italian restaurant.
Italian Salad is a Must order food too.

Last trip when I was in Medan, there were 2 friends accompanied me to have chinese food.
There were only 3 dishes with 3 drinks. I remembered I ordered Kiwi juice, while my friends had their orange juices.
It costed more than Rp300,000.
So if this restaurant can offer price much more cheaper, I have no reason not to have dinner there.

I have tried the TIRAMISU’ yesterday evening, it is really good, probably the best I remember I have ever eaten.
Maybe when you eat was just a bad day…
But I haven’t tried their Salads yet

My favourite is pizza and tiramisu. I will try these 2 dishes.
I have tasted all the trattorias and the one is medan is actually ok. We went there 2 nights ago, the place is nice and I liked their dessert, we had 2 creme brules and good tiramisu. I like the pizzas also. my friends and i will be back tomorrow. it is not too cheap but it is good for dinners.
my favourite trattoria is in mega kuningan area in jakarta,the food is delicious and the place is beautiful. the one in seminyak bali is the worse trattoria from all the franchise. we had a really bad experience there. it has been 2 times and very bad food and service is very horrible. Ultimo is the best place in oberoi street and the manager and chef is amazing and the food is delicious and the service and prices are great. They should open ultimo in Medan. the ravioli is 21000 and all of us eat in Ultimo all the time. We love Ultimo.

was there today (sunday) .. my third trip for the month… I had creme brulee every time.. but tonight… its the worst of all.. i did mentioned to the waitresses and they simply reply me..”it’s like that”.. but food is still ok though…
Next time, bring 2 muscular guys to accompany you to have dinner.
If the waitresses were still action, then ask your friends to show the waitresses with their muscles…

The 2nd time the delivery was really fast, I guess because they know my place now.
With the first delivery they take the menu’ so it is easy for next request.

I went there last night.It was raining and cold.Me and my friend sit right in front of the entrance door and the wind is blowing so hard..It was a cooooold nights.Haha.And we went there again today for lunch.
Anyway the foods were awesome n the candle on our table lights up the mood.
Waitresses n manager were so friendly – some gals would agree they are handsome too

Bolognaise, compliment bread, tiramisu, soft choco pie, service… BAD
as for the black pasta… it tasted great

We didnt have time for High Tea,
but we went for lunch and asked about the High Tea.
It is not a buffet or set menu.
The menu are mostly cookies and tea “per pot”, there are about 10 choices each. It’s a pity we did not have the time to give them a try.
As for the Tiramisu, yes, it has improved since our last visit.

- several special traditional italian receipts of coffee
- a warm italian chocolate (it is a drink)

About the “3pm to 6pm” time means that in this particular time of the day you will find the VIP room arranged with a tea and coffee chatting set-up.
Naturally you may ask the “tea and coffee” special menu’ also in different times of the day but you will seat in our normal restaurant set-up.

I had birthday party in Trattoria one month ago.
Food was excellent as always but that is not a news.
I want just to suggest their cocktails, was a birthday party and we ordered several ones.
Many of them I have never drinked before, are italians ones and are not only really excellent but also presented in a nice way.
The place is cosy, lights are smooths and welcoming. It is not a boring place.
Best place were to have a birthday party in Medan as far as I know.
I had been in Italy last year. Trattoria Medan is a real italian restaurant, the taste is same as the one I have tried in Italy but in Medan is much less costly
I have been only for dinner but never for lunch. with the new offer, I will be there often for lunch. better than eat fried rice for 15,000 Rp….

We inform you that we have always in menu’ the Tiramisu’.
The day you have not found the Tiramisu’ it was because we simply run out of it.
Our Tiramisu’ is made fresh everyday with cheese imported directly everyday from Italy.
We import only the quantity based on our usual selling tiramisu’ to give only the best to the customers, we can not overproduce because we shall trash away what we do not sell.
Usually a couple of Tiramisu’ remain everyday and we eat by ourself , that day evidently it was all sold out
For what concern the Carbonara, when the customers ask it to us, we do for them.
We have an Italian chief, if you like some italian dish you do not find in the menu’, simply ask to the Manager and we see if we have the ingredients to do it for you.
Carbonara was offered many times as “special”, the people like it a lot and we will put in the new menu’ going to start next week.
Thanks to your message, now I wish to have a spaghetti Carbonara too but it is 1.00am already!

As for Carbonara, we tried requesting from your waitress once during lunch, she asked the kitchen and said it couldnt be done

I really love the creamy sauce of the food something similar to fettucini carbonara (i forgot the name) and most of the important part is I LOVE the interior, it just perfect to relax and enjoy meals. Excellente Italiano food! XD

I go once a week at Trattoria. Always good. I enjoy to try always new dishes. The new menu’ has really good new dishes.
I gather friends from jakarta yesterday and we went to Trattoria. It was pack, many beautiful girls too…very nice time. Food was great. Service was nice, especially considering there is not charge for service. All the other resto charge 10% for service, Trattoria service is free. Will go there next weekend as well
Just took my kids at Trattoria for sunday lunch. We like the food a lot, price is cheap. They have also citibank card promo. Parking is easy in front of the restaurant. Suggested place to take out all the family for restaurant

It will be my first time to have Italian food in an Italian restaurant. Strictly speaking, besides spagetti, I have never try any Italian food before.
My parents don’t like western food therefore I only try chinese food, and very seldom to have western food.
Definitely, I will try tiramisu which I love the most.

They used to be very good. Taste, quality and portion is less now. And yet, they are still the best Italian Restaurant in Medan.
Pasta often undercooked, so make sure to ask them to cooked it al dente (fully cooked but still firm). Pizza is very good, super thin crust, great base sauce, and authentic choices of toppings. Dessert is so-so, for tiramisu I would still prefer Spageddies’s tiramisu, and the cream brulee is watery and too sweet.
I like to dine in trattoria during the weekdays. It is a very nice place, romantic and relaxing. Food is great, I love italian food. This is the only italian food choice in Medan
When next time I visit Medan, I will try to dine in this restaurant.

Really good food. I like italian food, it looks healthy to me. I have to say that trattoria medan serves really good food.it is difficult to find iin singapore a pizza that good. The cost of a pizza in trattoria in medan is 3times less than singapore!!

I gave the creme brulee the second chance and it did not dissapoint. The texture and sweetness is just right, and I can see the Vanilla specks….if only they use wider and shallower ramekin…then it will be perfect.
