Medan Trishaw

Medan Trishaw - Public Transport
Medan Trishaw is very unique, known as Becak in Bahasa Indonesia. It can still be commonly found around Medan. What is unique about Medan’s trishaw is that they are more “advance” than the conventional / traditional trishaw in movies or even in Singapore China Town.
Medan’s Trishaws are powered by engines - a motorcycle attached to the traditional trishaw which was powered by human cycling a bicycle.
If you visit Medan, you may want to try it as an experience, but do not travel too far with it as it may cost you more than taking a taxi! You can still see “some” human powered trishaw around but I would say 80% of them are motorcycle powered.
Watch this tourist’s experience with a trishaw, I wouldnt put that bag at the front if I were him.
