Here is a picture of Aston Hotel in Medan

It is due to open at end of 2008 together with Marriott Hotel. Tourists and Business Executives to Medan can now enjoy more choices of quality 5 star hotels.

Right in front of the Aston Hotel, as you can see in the picture is the City Hall of Medan, a historical building which is now part of Aston Hotel. The City Hall will be refurbished with the original architecture intact. It was originally planned to be an Exclusive Club Facility but things my have changed. we just have to see when it opens to public.

Beside the hotel is Bank of Indonesia, due to safety issues, the hotel did face some restrictions with the heights and structure of constructions.

Across the street is the Central Post Office of Medan and Merdeka Walk (which is the open air modern food center of Medan). Merdeka Walk does have a good relaxing atmosphere at night ( if it does not rain) and just in case you are not comfortable with Indonesian food or the Hotel food, there is always a Pizza Hut and a 24 hour Mc Donalds for you to grab a bite.

On the right side of the hotel, just a few step away is the Grand Palladium Mall and Aryaduta Hotel.

With the opening of a huge theme park Hill Park at Green Hill City - Sibolangit ( an hour drive away from city center of Medan) Could Medan be expecting more tourists from nearby towns of Sumatra or even a get away destination from Singapore and nearby Malaysia?

If, so then these hotels will be much happier

Aston Hotel to Open in Medan Indonesia

Aston Hotel is under construction in Medan. It is located right opposite the popular open-air food center in Medan -The Merdeka Walk.

Right beside the government office of Walikota and walking distance to the Grand Palladium Shopping Mall which houses The Aryaduta Hotel managed by the Grand Hyatt.

It was originally planned as a shopping mall known as City Hall - Town Square with a boutique hotel and a highly exclusive club with the original town square building. But the plan was changed as there were issues with the securities of Bank Indonesia which is right beside the location.
