If you are in Medan for the past 2 months you will here this word alot “PILGUBSU”
PilGubsu - stands for Pilihan Gubenur Sumatera which means: “Vote Governor Sumatra” Elections
You will also realize Medan roads are filled with flyers and billboards of the 5 candidates pair running for the Governor seat of Sumatra. From this weak on, there will be campaigns running around Medan and Sumatra with the 5 candidates taking turn to go round the streets so be prepared for traffic jams and masses of people in the party’s uniform if you are traveling to Medan.
The government is also spending Rp17 Billion to secure Medan and make sure no riots or conflicts between the parties. The elections / voting will commence on 14 April 2008.
