I just found this blog Eating Asia about one of the best street food in Medan – The Nasi Gurih similar to Nasi Lemak in Malaysia
The author, a traveler to Medan highly recommend the food and took some great pictures. Well you can see 2 of the pictures here. Can you imagine street food in a tent can look so good? and best of all taste so good? With such high recommendation by the author, if you have a good stomach, it is definitely a MUST eat in Medan. I must say, the pictures really look so good, it makes me hungry 
I bet the author is a good photographer too!
You can find “Lontong Nasi Gurih – Tenda Biru Glugur” at Jl. Yos Sudarso – Glugur area heading for P.Brayan. The word “Tenda Biru” literally means “Blue Tent” so watch out for this blue tent!

Setelah setahun tak melihat Medan,satu hal yg aku kangeeenn banget itu makan Nasi Gurih di Tenda Biru ini..ga ada duanya deh…huehuehue…teringat kalo dulu tuh..waiting list pun jadi..yg penting makan disitu !!!! Hahahaha…………
Aduh sedapnya…terus terang belum pernah nyoba..kalo pulang ke Medan kami selalu makan nasi gurih @ lontong sayur di Jl.Cik Ditiro dekat sekolah SMA I area kampung keling kalo nggak salah warung kak Lin ataupun bang Man….Rasanya ya sedap juga. Tapi insyaAllah kalo ke Medan lagi kami akan mampir ke tenda biru.
sebenernya masih byk makanan maknyus di medan,,,
iya itu si nasi gurih emank mantaaappp..
ada juga yg ga kalah mantap…
tau ga?? itu tuh SOP SUMSUM RUMAH MAKAN SIPIROK yg di jalan sunggal…
hehe… cobain aja… dijamin.. ueennaakkk…

It sure looks so bloody delicious but I became skeptic when I saw the second picture. Very bad hygiene……..

We spent about 30 minutes trying to find this place last July. No luck.
If you drive along Jl. Yos Sudarso / Glugur from Medan, you will find it on the left side. You have to pass the main junction of Glugur, which is where the Afternoon wet market is.
Nasi gurih “nenek/tenda biru” enak kali……..
