Fire Broke out

The fire broke out on 20 February 2009 at 3 AM in a 3 storey shop house at Jalan Bambu, North Sumatra,  Medan Indonesia where both children were asleep. Their parents were in Hong Kong on an overseas trip. The children were said to be locked inside their room and could not get out during the fire.

As seen on the news videos, the windows or balconies of shophouses in Medan are mostly fitted with steel gates for security reasons which has now proved to be a fire safety flaw as the children could not escaped from the protected steel windows. The Fire fighters had a tough time breaking open the steel gates.

The 2 Young children Natassya  Sowin age 13 and Melvin Sowin age 14 are students of the Singapore Piaget Academy a popular school in Medan and was known to have called relatives for help during the fire. However, it was too late when help arrived as it has been reported that they have suffocated from the fumes caused by the fire from the ground floor. The saddest thing was… it was the birthday of one of the children when the fire claimed their lives.

In Memory of Natassya & Melvin

We share our deepest condolences for the lost of Natassya & Melvin with their parents Suhendri / Abok and Saina Irawan / Wie Wie and their loved ones and share this video below in memory of Natassya & Melvin.

    If this maid was purposely kill the 2 children, it was due to she envied this family and these 2 children who have good life.

    Jealousy, envy cause hatre and anger.

    Forgive and forget, if POSSIBLE.

    Psalm 23 (New International Version)

    Psalm 23
    A psalm of David.
    1 The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.

    2 He makes me lie down in green pastures,
    he leads me beside quiet waters,

    3 he restores my soul.
    He guides me in paths of righteousness
    for his name’s sake.

    4 Even though I walk
    through the valley of the shadow of death, [a]
    I will fear no evil,
    for you are with me;
    your rod and your staff,
    they comfort me.

    5 You prepare a table before me
    in the presence of my enemies.
    You anoint my head with oil;
    my cup overflows.

    6 Surely goodness and love will follow me
    all the days of my life,
    and I will dwell in the house of the LORD
    forever.
