Medan Students Wins International World Robotic Olympic

International World Robotic Olympiade
Medan students proved that they can compete and win International Competitions and events. After several wins from World Wushu Championships by the North Sumatra Wushu Team, today the students from Prime One School Medan show their ability by winning several categories in the International World Robotic Olympiade (WRO) held in Pohang, Postech (University of Science and Technology) Korea.
The prestigious World Robotic Olympic event was pursued by more than 1.000 participants from 24 countries including Korea, Germany, Denmark, Swedia, Hongkong, Taipei, Ukraina, Yunani, Singapore, China, Rusia, Malaysia, Thailand, India, Philipines, Emirates Arab, Peru, Indonesia etc..
The Pride of Medan: The World Robotic Olympiade (WRO) Team from Prime One School (POS) received a warm welcome back from teachers and students from the school as they returned to Medan with pride and honor.
All three Robotic teams from POS that participated in the event wins!
- Ivy Icasia and Patricia Dissy Andrea both Secondary 3 students in Team Creator won 2nd place in the Junior Category.
- Billy Hocker Wistan and Fenando both Secondaru 3 students in Team Alpha Rex won 3rd place in Junior Category.
- Kelvin Onggadinata and Margaretha Hutabarat both Primary 6 students in Team Innocent won 5th place in the Elementary Category.

What is (are) competed in World Robotic Olympics? Making robot? Or just knowledge on robot?
They have to make robots, usually small scales robots, using electronic and computer programs, not the ones you see in Terminator!
I see. Of course not the super robots like in The Terminators. One can rule the world if he can make those kinds of robots.

How about considering being the first to make a tourist guide robot.Visitors to Medan with language problem can meet the Robot at Polonia airport.The visitors just need to hold the robot’s hand and tell the robot using their own language and let the robot bring them around,by bechaks,bus or taxi to shopping centers ,Samosir etc etc.Can also upgrade by making male and female robot .It will be interesting.Nothing is impossble.
Good idea! But hold the robot’s hand and tell it to accompany you to Samosir Island? You will need a lot of such robots in Polonia Airport.

Can also consider making a smaller one called the mini robot ,maybe can also put in the pocket like a handphone,so it can guide you around by communicating .
Who knows after some time you can have feeling for it and marry it as it can help you in your daily washing,bathing,cooking etc…
and sshh….I suggested this idea to the Medan students only,becos I am proud of them,my father also born in Medan ,so dun rob my idea if you are not a medan larng ah….haha
Hahaha.. though I am not a Medanlang, I like Medan food very much and participate in this Medanese forum. So don’t be so stingy.
Again it is a good idea from you to make mini robots though it will be more difficult to make them. But never put a mini robot into your pocket. You won’t know if it may suddenly squeeze you “bird”.
