Indonesia Airport Tax Increase 25% to 50% as of March 2009

Indonesia Airport operator PT Angkasa Pura II promised to improve airport facilities and services accordingly with the increase in airport tax across all airports in Indonesia from 25% to 50%.

Upgrades such as renovations of toilet facilities, check in and check out counters, waiting area and gates will be carried out from the increase tax received by the operator.

“Comments and Complains can now be directed via SMS to “9900″ or official website at www.angkasapura2.co.id” according to Sudaryanto – Corporate Secretary Angkasa Pura II (APII)

Angkasa Pura II operates 10 Airports in Indonesia and the new airport taxes are as follows:

Saya selalu bercuti ke MEDAN apakah Medan New Airport at Kuala Namu memberikan kemudahan kelas pertama. Bagaimana dengan Medan Polonia Airport, saya rasa senang dengan Airport yang ada sekarang.

    Regards.

will they stop the ridiculous practice of collecting the money at the airport, rather than including it in the ticket price? Taking the money at the airport just makes Indonesia look like a third world country. I assume it’s done that way to enrich the collectors, but I’m not really sure.

I will go to Medan this April. Is anyone can help me about the transportation & hotel at Medan???? Usually how much is the charges for the Tour Guide over there???

  4. matthew on February 23rd, 2009 9:47 pm

Tour guide cost is about US$10 per day – 100,000 rupiah. It’s normal to pay for food (and accommodation if staying away) as well.

    Hi Liz,
What kind of transportation do you need?

For transportation in the city, Taxis and Trishaws are widely available on the streets.

If you need transportation to Lake Toba or Brastagi, you may contact tour / travel operators in Medan to arrange a tour that comes with a tour guide and transportation.
