Public Holidays in Indonesia 2009
Here is a list of public holidays in Indonesia. You may use this list as a guide to planning your vacation trip to Medan. Public Holidays can be a busy time to travel and flights and hotel accommodation can become expensive or full.

Furthermore, if you are planning to travel to Medan for business, then you will want to avoid the holidays as offices will be closed during these days.
Watch out for “cuti bersama” days. “Cuti bersama” means “taking leave together”. These are extended vacation / holiday for government offices, nevertheless, recently most companies have chosen to close their offices during “cuti bersama” days as well. Please note that banks may close too during the cuti bersama holidays.
Shopping Malls will still be open during these public holidays but some may open a little later at about 10am or 12pm depending on management decisions.
Other non public holidays to watch out for is CENG BENG in Medan during April, Election Days in April, School holidays in June and December where parents will bring their children overseas for vacation.
