Aston International has appointed Mr. Ricky Theodores as General Manager for the soon to open 5 star Grand Aston City Hall Hotel & Residence in Medan, North Sumatra.
A twenty year veteran of the hospitality industry, Mr. Theodores looks back to a career with reputable hotel groups such as GHM where he was the Financial Comptroller for the Chedi’s in Bandung and Bali. Prior to joining Aston International Mr. Theodores was the General Manager of the Aryaduta Suites Hotel Semanggi in Jakarta.
Aston International President & CEO Mr. Charles Brookfield welcomed the appointment of Mr. Theodores and said “The positioning of Aston International in Indonesia and the region beyond has enabled us to attract yet another very experienced GM. With another 20 hotels currently under development it is very important that we continue to attract both local and expatriate talent of Mr. Theodore’s caliber”.
The Grand Aston City Hall Medan will open on 19 January 2010 and is set to become one of Medan’s leading international 5 star hotels. Located just across popular Merdeka Walk the hotel will feature several superlatives such as Sumatra’s only acoustically engineered ball room, a top end private executive club, the first and only auditorium in Medan, a separate serviced apartment tower guaranteeing exclusivity at an unparalleled level and no less than five restaurants, Sumatra’s first tapas bar, a night club, a shopping arcade, a full service destination spa and the painstakingly restored historic Balai Kota, Medan’s original 120 year old City Hall, which has been incorporated into the hotel’s grand lobby and will feature a classic European café.
