FireFly Airline to Fly from Penang to Medan
“Firefly will fly to more destinations from November of this year after it takes delivery of five new ATR 72-500 turbo-prop aircraft” - managing director Eddy Leong.
At present, Firefly flies from its main hub in Penang to Subang, Kuantan, Kuala Terengganu, Kota Bharu, Langkawi, and Koh Samui and Phuket (Thailand).
From Subang, it flies to Penang, Langkawi, Kota Bharu and Kuala Terengganu.
The new routes will be Penang to Banda Aceh (Indonesia) and Subang to Johor Baru, Kerteh, Medan and Pekan Baru (Indonesia), and Koh Samui (Thailand).
FireFly will fly from Penang to Medan from 26 October 2008 with the new aircraft as you can see from the picture above.
Mr Leong spoke about Firefly’s plans for the future during the companies first anniversary celebrations and said that Firefly is interested in expanding in both the Indonesia-Malaysia- Thailand Growth triangle (IMT-GT) areas as well as destinations like Seletar in Singapore and Batam in Indonesia.

Wah, this is a tremendous news.
I believe with the new airplane, the trip will be more comfortable.
Congratulations.
GOOD LUCK.
GOD BLESS
I agree. I am planning to move to Medan (for religous reasons) so I might actually get to be on one.
PS
Does anyone have any information on classes at the FOCUS Maritime Academy? The website isn’t helping a whole lot. Anyone who does I would really appreciate the information.
