Indonesia 64th Independence Day – 17 August 2009

Indonesia, a country that is truly unique on its own, is clearly one that is well loved by the local Indonesian whom are passionately proud of this great nation. This is a country that has a huge archipelago of over 13,667 islands extending 5,120 kilometers from east to west and 1,760 kilometers from north to south. Indonesia encompasses a total land area 1,919,317 square kilometers.

Being the world’s fourth most populous country with over 237 millions (July 08), and having the largest Muslim population in the world, regardless of where you are in the world, in any corner of this earth, you can easily spot a true Indonesian at heart.
Gaining her Independence on 17 August 1945, with over 64 years of Merdeka and with just the 6th president in place, well, Indonesia sure have grown and developed tremendously over the past great years.
Although we have our own disasters, terrorists attacks, political mishaps, Indonesia do still stand STRONG and will become Stronger!!! (as expressed by all Indonesians in #indonesiaunite)We are a country that has a vast and an extensive rich in natural resources, being one the world’s largest Palm Oil producer, our country sure have a big presence on the world map. Like all developing countries, we have our fair share of poverty, but having said that, our Millionaires including several Billionaires on the Forbes list, we do have just as plentiful.
To spot a local Indonesian in any part of the world, one can distinguish easily through the soft gentle tone in the voice of an Indonesian. The unique beautiful sound of Bahasa that is well converse politely and ‘rrrrringly’, even with the English slang that the local speaks can easily be recognized from afar.
The edgy fun loving nature of Indonesian, a simple word like “Yo!” that often said at the end of each sentence, well.. that sure tells you the origin of the individual… and that you can be sure he/she is a local, coz no one of another origin can say it with that right tone no matter how long he/she has been living in the country.
What’s more interesting is that, one can even easily spot an Indonesian car overseas from the ‘Garuda’ proudly presented on their car.. it’s truly unique.. the way we walk, talk, eat, laugh, play, Indonesian, we are a truly a unique group of people that often raised eyebrow.

Dear all,
First of all, we should say “Grateful to God” that today we have experienced 64the independence or freedom from Dutch and Japanese colonialization. But for one thing, the independence was not as a gift from the colonials. It was from our nations’ struggle to obtain it. What a shame! Even we’ve freed from colonization but our nation still has not yet free from Corruption, Collution and Poverty. I am sure SBY will be able to overcome these problems and of course with our people’s participation.

Dear all,
Now SBY has been in his second term (2009-2014)as President for Indonesia. He must prove his promises when he was expressing in his campaign. Long time ago China was the first most corruption country in the world and our country was under rate of China. But today, China is possibly the fifth and our country Indonesia is the FIRST or TOP ONE as the most corruption country in the world, we are the winner in this bad case. So, we hope SBY can enforce the law and eradicate all kinds of corruption cultures in this beloved country. We wait and see!
