What is Ceng Beng?
It is a period of ancestor worship in Chinese culture when the Chinese pay respect to their ancestors by means of remembering them, visiting their graves for cleaning, family gathering and burning of “hell money” (paper printed money with gold and silver representing money for the ancestral world) It is believed that the ancestral world is similar to our world where they also need money for life and luxury.

By burning “hell money” – I prefer to say “heaven money”
, you are offering your ancestors “money” and better life hence you will also receive the same in our world. “He who gives shall receive”. Failing to burn these money for ancestors can be seen as a mark of disrespect, a kind of neglect and will have its own consequences.
