Medan Mayor Election 2nd Round Date has been set to 15 june 2010

Pemilihan Kepala Daerah (Pilkada) Kota Medan, the election of Mayor of the city of Medan will be held on 15 June 2010. Although it has not been officially announced, it is expected to be a public holiday for Medan City again just as it was for the first round of the election.

The results of the initial election on May 12 (2010) shows that none of the candidates scored over 30% of votes, hence a second election will need to be carried out to confirm the winner of the election as the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of the city of Medan.

Here are the results of the highest five pairs of candidates as announced by the Election committee of Medan:

1. Rahudman Harahap-Dzulmi Eldin with a total of 150.671 votes (22.20%),
2. Sofyan Tan-Nelly with a total of 140.676  votes (20.72%),
3. Sigit Pramono Asri-Nurlisa Ginting with a total of 97.295  votes (14.33%),
4. Ajib Shah-Binsar Situmorang with a total of 93.118  votes (13.72%),
5. Maulana Pohan-M Arif with a total of 76.351 votes (11.25%).

For your information, if you are visiting Medan, during this day, most activities in Medan will be centered around this election from morning till about 1pm. Hence, you may find most malls and offices will be open from 12pm or 1pm.

12 May 2010 Election Day for Mayor of Medan City

Will you be coming to Medan tomorrow? Just in case you do, remember its election day for the Mayor of Medan so do not be alarmed that all shops will be closed in the morning.

Governor of North Sumatra has declared the day as special holiday for the residents of Medan to participate in voting for the Mayor of Medan City

Malls Opens from Noon. Most Shopping centers will be closed in the morning and only opens from noon or 1pm. Most offices will be closed for the day.

Banks will be open though since Medan Mayor election is not a national event.

Public Holiday 13 May 2010 Ascension. Kenaikan Yesus Kristus

At the same time, its also a national holiday on 13 May 2010 and becomes a two days holiday for Medanese.

Most shopping malls should be open as usual for 13 May 2010

Happy Holidays to all Medanese and hopefully the newly elected Mayor will further improve Medan the Metropolitan City of Sumatra.

This 3 days workshop will be translated into Indonesian language.  Kids will be taught in 3 main areas;

Academic: Master the “Learn How-to learn” skills for primary school subjects to score “A’s and lay a good foundation for success.  These include Super-memory, Spidergram, Speed reading, Learning Vocabulary, Story Grid, Secrets of Visual writing skills and Thinking skill.

Personal: “Why they learn” and once they realize the “WHY” behind they study, they become SELF-MOTIVATED and the ‘HOW TO” study becomes a lot easier. Some of the topics taught are Problem Solving & Decision Making Techniques, Goal-Setting, Self-Esteem and Self-Worth, Positive Inner Motivation, Time Management and Self-Organization.

Team Member: ‘HOW TO COMMUNICATE” so that they are understood better, building closer family relationships and friendships. These are Developing Family Relationships, Strategies for Team Problem Solving, Developing a sense of Responsibility and Learning how to Communicate Effectively.

This Christmas!

Fahrenheit – the Taiwanese boy band that has achieved success in the Southeast Asia. The group consists of four members: Aaron Yan, Wu Chun, Calvin Chen and Jiro Wang. They are managed by Jerry Fen’s Comic Productions Co., Ltd. and records albums with HIM International Music. Fahrenheit are often associated with their seniors S.H.E, and are commonly referred to as the most successful Taiwanese boy band after F4.

Derived from the definition of Fahrenheit, each of the four members represents a season or temperature that corresponds with their different personalities. Calvin Chen represents spring (warm); Jiro Wang represents summer (hot); Wu Chun represents autumn (cool); and Aaron Yan represents winter (cold). Each of the four members also has his respective temperature represented on the Fahrenheit scale: Calvin Chen is at 77 degrees, Jiro Wang is at 95 degrees, Wu Chun is at 59 degrees, and Aaron Yan is at 41 degrees.

Fahrenheit first gained minor recognition around late 2005 when their first all-together series, KO One, was broadcast on television in Taiwan. On December 28, 2005, Fahrenheit officially became a vocal quartet boy band.

On 15th September 2006, Fahrenheit’s first album was released and it was sold more than 80.000 copies in Taiwan in the first month.

Fahrenheit’s fans has expanded to Hongkong, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines and other Southeast Asia country. Now Fahrenheit is becoming more familiar to North American and European.

Their much anticipated second album, Two-sided Fahrenheit, was released on January 4, 2008. The new album saw the four employ more advanced harmonizing techniques as well as some progression. Nonetheless, the band’s youthful energy was retained in songs such as the opening song for the drama Romantic Princess: “Xin Wo”, which is a duet by Fahrenheit and their seniors S.H.E. On the album “Xiao Xiao Da Ren Wu” is the Disney theme song for 2008.

On January 2, 2009, Fahrenheit released their third album, Love You More and More.

Typical Itinerary Summary:

• 14 Nov : 11 Am leaving the start point at Garoga Village – stay over night (camp) in the mountain
• 15 Nov ; Continuing the trek passing the Simangande waterfall – Back to the start point – Having BBQ fresh Fish + Tuak a local drink ( Palm wine ) – back to your hotel.

The Samosir Tourism  team will pick up/drop off any participants from/to their hotel.

Requirements for participants :

1. You need to have a really good condition/fit/energic and you do like challenge.
2. Put a good tracking shoes on
3. Rain jacket
4. Bring your own flashlight if u have.
5. If you bring your own tent will cost you less for the trip.
6. Follow the organizer a long the trip, dont make your own path, it is quiet dangerous.
7. Bring your own drink water as much as you can, beside that organisator will provide.
8. Better to wear a long shirt on.
9. Bring your Camera.

This is an introduction trekking/climb trip , if you bring your own food/tent it wont cost you anything, you are very welcome.
