09 April 2009 is the election day in Indonesia
Citizens all over Indonesia will choose legislative members for parliament in this Indonesia Legislative Election.
Dont be surprised if you notice “blue ink” on the pinky (last finger) of your Indonesian friends. This is proof that they have use their rights to vote. The officials use this security measure to make sure that voters do not cheat and try to vote more than once using the rights of other voters who refused to use the rights or unable to use them. Hence at the exit of these voting centers known as (TPS), voters will be requested to dip their last finger into a bottle of blue ink to stain their fingers. The blue ink is not easy to clean off and can last for days. Hence you will find Blue Ink Fever all over Indonesia

9.1 million registered residents in North Sumatra has voted today hence expect to see “blue ink” spot on the pinky of voters.
At the same time, you can also notice and spot who has NOT voted
However, do not assume that they do not want to vote. There may be other reasons why they do not have the “blue ink fever” as they may not be residents in North Sumatra and has not been registered here.
The election day today, has been declared as public holiday in Indonesia, offices are closed today, retails and shops are expected to open from 2pm since all Indonesians should be given their rights to vote from 0700 – 1200 WIB. See the opening times of Macan Yaohan Supermarkets
