Im planning for a trip to medan on dis comin May 2010. Surrounding the hotel, are they a walkin dist bazaar or places for shopping? What is the taxi rate frm airport to Asean Int Hotel?

we are not sure which bazaar you are referring to.
If it is the wholesale market of clothing (Petisah) then yes, the hotel is close by as Asean International Hotel is in the Petisah area of Medan.

Hi. I’m planning for a trip to medan and I understand that Asean Intl Hotel is located at the city centre. I wonder whether the distance from the hotel to the bazaar (which I heard that the place offers good and cheap cloths etc) is close enough? Is it a walking distance?

Yes, Asean International Hotel was Best Western International, they have recently changed management hence the new name.

Plaza Medan Fair is the closest to Asean International Hotel. As for the smaller rooms Karaoke, you will need to confirm with the hotel if they are available.

There are many Karaokes in Medan including some new family karaoke that does not serve alcohol. I am sure they have smaller rooms for those. You can find these “Karaoke Keluarga” at Komplek Multatuli, Jl. Raden Saleh (near to Merdeka Walk) and near to Kampung Keling.

ermm….so good meh?
I prefer to find a simple place to stay whenever I visit Medan instead of staying with relatives for the whole trip.
Maybe I will try during my next visit if its walking distant to shopping mall.I think the only facility that will attract me here is the karaoke ,but that seems too big for a lonely visitor like me.Got smaller room for me to sing alone or not?
