Asean International Hotel closed temporarily and Reopening on 19 Sep 2009
The Management of Asean International Hotel Medan released an apology letter for the accident, mishap fire on Sunday 13 September 2009, at 20.30 wib where a fire broke out from their main electrical panel. The fire was immediately handled byhotel staff and fire brigade.
At the time of the incident, all hotel guests were evacuated immediately and was moved to other hotels for the safety and comfort of the hotel guests.
“There are no casualties in the incident. All hotel guests and staff are safe.” explained Desi Muharani (PR Executive Asean International Hotel Medan)
For the time being, the hotel’s engineering and project team are conducting repairs hence the hotel has be closed from operations temporarily and will be opening back on Saturday 19 september 2009.
Asean Hotel management are carrying out investigations of the incident and confirmed that there is no explosion of generator as rumored.
Asean Hotel would like to apologize for the inconvenience caused to all hotel guests, clients, corporate, travel agent and government agencies that has been supporting Asean International Hotel.

Sorry but I just want to share my view so that maybe one day,through Medan Ku ,some life can be saved.
Most travellers have place their trust on the hotel management when they chose the hotel and will not check on its safety measure.
One way hotel operators can help is by making sure that its emergency exit door is not locked or obstructed.
When on fire,take note that all lift may be grounded and one should walk calmly down the staircase exit and not reaching for the roof top.The smoke can kill.
These are 2 of the many points that i believe is important and one should take not .
and Asian Int’l,congratulation on your reopening and your staff’s ability to put the fire under control .
