Thai AirAsia: Daily Flights FD3991 from Medan to Phuket Cancelled
Just as we were so glad that there are Direct Daily flights from Medan – Phuket announced by by Air Asia in November 2009, we received email announcement from Air Asia that Thai Air Asia flights FD3991 from Medan to Phuket daily flights have been canceled and will only operate on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday with effect from 20 December 2009 until 29 October 2010

Travelers / Passengers that have booked flights for Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday between 20 December 2009 until 29 October 2010 will all be affected, canceled and will have to choose the alternatives below as announced by Air Asia:
In the event of such flight cancellation, you shall at our option, either:
- (a) Carry you at the earliest opportunity on another of our scheduled services on which space is available without additional charge and, where necessary, extend the validity of your booking; or
- (b) Should you choose to travel at another time, retain the value of your fare in a credit account for your future travel provided that you must re-book within three (3) months with call centre there from; or
- (c) Make a refund to you in accordance with these Terms & Conditions.

You publish places to eat out at but it would be great if you can put some local recipes from Medan on your site.
People looking from other countries would love to try out some recipes and also those Indonesian people who have gone overseas would love to try cooking something from home.

No reason was given in the announcement,
but we are sure it has got to do with the lower demand than expected.
Luckily they still keep 3 days a week flights for travelers of Medan & Phuket
sorry I don’t really have any recipes to help get started as I am Australian. I did live in Medan for 2 years and miss the food. My husband is from Medan and now lives in Australia and really misses Indonesian food. I hope to get some recipes from your site to suprise him one day and cook him some local food from Medan.
